If you're considering transferring from another campus or college, you might be wondering how your previous coursework or life experience will count toward a Leffler Academy degree.
Just because you're starting at a new school doesn't mean you have to leave your hard work behind!
Read more below to learn about how credits can transfer to Leffler Academy!
Proficiency exams offer students an opportunity to earn credit for one or more courses based on a demonstrated knowledge of material. Students should contact a member of our staff to learn of the eligible exams.
Many times, classes you've already completed may be recognized by Leffler Academy and count as semester hours towards your degree.
At this time, Leffler Academy does not accept credit by experiential learning.
Leffler Academy will formally evaluate your official college transcripts to determine if your previous coursework from another institution translates to credit at Leffler Academy.
Coursework that you completed from one or more college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation in which you receive a grade of C or higher, will be eligible for credit at Leffler Academy.
Leffler Academy accepts credits earned at another institution that is not located in the United States or its territories, however, the transcript must be evaluated by an agency which attests to the qualitative and quantitative equivalency of the foreign education, including the specific courses. The agency conducting the foreign education equivalency must have published standards for membership, hold affiliations to international higher education associations, and be frequently linked to and used by federal agencies, educational institutions, and employers (e.g., members of NACES and AICE).
No more than 24 credit hours will apply towards the Associate of Science in Nursing. Student’s should contact the School of Nursing for a list of transferable courses.
The School of Nursing at Leffler Academy will determine how transferred credits apply toward your degree requirements. Although transferred credits may count toward your degree at Leffler Academy, they will not count toward your GPA.
Within a few weeks of being admitted as a transfer student, you will receive a detailed Transfer Credit Report from a member of our staff!
This report will list all courses you've taken at other institutions and indicate which ones will transfer to Leffler Academy. If a course will transfer, the report will name the equivalent Leffler Academy course for which you will receive credit.
