Below are the admission requirements for the Nursing, A.S. Program at the Leffler Academy School of Nursing.
Acceptance into the School of Nursing will be based on a combination of test scores, application, and personal interview results.
The School of Nursing application process is ONLY open to students who have already completed the undergraduate application process and have been accepted as undergraduate students at Leffler Academy.
School of Nursing applications submitted by applicants who are not current Leffler Academy undergraduate students will be automatically denied and the application fee will NOT be refunded or transferred to a future application!
Applicants must attend at least one Information Session for the desired cohort they are applying to.
School of Nursing applications submitted by applicants who did not attend at least one information session for the desired cohort will be automatically denied and the application fee will NOT be refunded or transferred to a future application!
Application completed and submitted along with a $30 Application Fee (non-refundable).
Applications will be reviewed by our staff, and incomplete or inaccurately completed applications will be automatically denied, and the application fee will NOT be refunded or transferred to a future application!
To ensure adequate time for processing the points towards admission and/or TEAS test scores, please submit your TEAS test by sending an official transcript to Leffler Academy through ATI by the established deadline.
Applications and all required documentation must be submitted no later than 4:59 p.m., Eastern Standard Time, by the Application Deadline date.
The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is used as part of the admissions process by Leffler Academy. See ATI Pre-Nursing School FAQs, https://www.atitesting.com/teas/teas-exam for more information.

· Study guides are available at www.atitesting.com.
· The TEAS may be taken up to three (3) times in one year regardless of testing location.
· There must be at least thirty (30) days between the test dates for the TEAS.
· Applicants must pay the approved testing fee with each attempt through ATI website.
· TEAS Test scores will be valid for three (3) years from the date of the initial TEAS test for all nursing program tracks and must be valid through the application deadline date. TEAS tests that expire before the application deadline will be ineligible for consideration towards program admission, even if the student applies before the application deadline.
· The TEAS test must include all four test components to be considered valid: Reading, English, Math, and Science. Partial tests will not be accepted.
· Applicants who take the TEAS at schools other than Leffler Academy must contact Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) to have an official copy electronically submitted directly to Leffler Academy.
If transferring TEAS scores from another school to Leffler Academy, official transcripts must be received by Leffler Academy five (5) days before the deadline to ensure scores are collected and processed before the deadline.
· Applicants should score at the proficient level or higher to be considered for admission, however an offer of admission may be considered for applicants scoring at the developmental or basic levels if their reading and English sections are scored at or above proficiency.
· TEAS sub-category scores will be used in the selection point system. (See below Admission Selection Point System).
The applicant's ATI Academic Preparedness Category appears on the TEAS Score report immediately below the Adjusted Individual Total Score. The Adjusted Individual Total Score will be used only as a tiebreaker.
An admissions committee will be formed of the School of Nursing faculty and staff. As part of the admission process, each student will be interviewed individually.
Interviews are scheduled at a specific time for each cohort. If a student does not reserve an interview in a timely fashion, the application will be denied, and the application fee will NOT be refunded or transferred to a future application!
All applicants will be screened through NURSYS to verify that they do not possess a nursing license, neither active, nor are under suspension or probation.
If an applicant is found to have a previous license, either active or under disciplinary action, the application will be denied and the application fee will NOT be refunded or transferred to a future application!
The Indiana State Board of Nursing will be notified immediately.
Students that complete steps 1-4 within an Application Window for the desired cohort will schedule an on-site interview which will consist of the Director of the School of Nursing, and a combination of the Faculty and Staff of the School of Nursing.
Students will be notified promptly if he or she has been accepted and further communication will take place.

Leffler Academy School of Nursing is offering two Information Sessions for the Fall 2025 Cohort. They are;
Wednesday, July 10th, 2024 at 5:00PM EST, and
Wednesday, September 4th, 2024 at 5:00PM EST
Applications Open: Monday, June 3rd, 2024 at 8:00AM EST
Applications Close: Friday, September 27th, 2024 at 5:00PM EST
Students that complete the required steps and meet the initial minimum admission requirements will be extended an on-site interview with the Director of Nursing and the Faculty and Staff of Leffler Academy.
Interviews for the Fall 2025 Cohort will be held between the following dates;
Monday, September 30th, 2024 and Friday, October 4th, 2024.
The Leffler Academy School of Nursing operates on what is referred to as "selective admissions." This means that not all candidates who apply will be accepted.
Students will receive one of three determinations after the interview process, they are;
Admission decisions will be emailed out on Monday, October 7th, 2024 at 8:00AM EST.
